i appreciate their effort and that they bring in all kinds of famous djs to dc, and occasionally djs i really like at moderate prices. i do think the venue fur is a huge improvement over insomnia but i just don't like it. i don't like the layout (poor usage of space) nor the hiphop room...sound is okay but too loud/ not clean/crisp enough and too bassy in many spots on the floor... i'll still give them it sounds better than insomnia... lighting is okay... ambiance is okay... their pretentious dress code pisses me off its just dumb. all in all it's okay but i still can't take it seriously. nation was just a good place for edm over the years. no fuss, good setup and good talent... i guess location-wise nation was in the sketchier place.... am i right? its hard to tell what's worse in dc sometimes. never been here for an extended amount of time.

Really good venue could use a little bit of work but what was great the huge amoutn of space Nation has but I wonder were they find this much space like they had before

i pretty much ONLY went to nation from 1999-2001....they had some sick acts. i guess after it turned to cubik or whatever else, i kinda lost interest. now most of my friends go to fur but nation still has a lot of memories for me. i'll definitely miss it.
