I don't really think they can, I mean, I think it is controlled enough. If you want porn you look for it; it's a choice and I don't think any goverment has a right to take it away, sure you can regulate it in the sense of classifaction, like they do with TV. But I don't think they should deny it. I don't look at porn; promise

To be honest I think labour are up shit creek without a paddle and it's not going to get better, if Kim Beazley loses this next election, which is highly likely labour have to have a leader change ( beazley has lost three times ).

I think the labour party have a few things they should be looking at at the moment rather than banning porn.

This issue is discussed all the time and has been thrown out there various times by many different people/organisations. I mean a while back there was a discussion from the iana i beleve to create a .xxx domain (i.e. www.hotslutttzz.xxx) ... this was rejected because it was a form of acceptance of porn on the internet...(yes I am serious) Maybe instead of trying to censor everything they offer free internet monitoring or programs to block nasty sites... But this is nothing to really worry about it just won't happen.

its definately not a very easily implemented procedure but i do agree with the concept. He is not saying to restrict all Australians from accessing this material but he is just trying to make it so if people want this stuff to be accessible from their home PC they can make it so. The idea is a good one as it would mean that family PC's would be automatically unable to access porn and violent material and if we wanted to be able to access it from our own PC's we can just call our ISP and get access to it.

However it is very much a logistical nightmare and a very costly one. So politically it is yet another mistake in policy from an opposition that we desperately need to get its act together before this country becomes a policed state the way America is.

John Howards current war on terrorism is also a veil to amp up his zero tollerance war on drugs and in general our societys rights to free speech. We are in a whole world of trouble if this country doesnt rebalance as a multi party nation soon. Kim Beasley doesnt seem to be taking advantage of the AWB situation and spending his time spouting out useless policies that wont attract voters such as this one.

i think youve got it backward. people should have to do their own work to be added to the block. and then theres the simple question of what is classified as violent and pornographic. let parents attend to their children's surfing habits and let the govt mind their own fvcking business.
