i've spent the last 14 years of my life growing up in a town of roughly 17,000.

it blows. the senior citizens vote in record numbers everytime something interesting gets proposed (skate park, city aquatic center, etc) and they always vote it out.

gay.

thats why when i graduated i picked up and moved to milwaukee. i love being sorrounded by 2 million people. there are actually things to do. its a beautiful thing

this is burlington...the biggest city in vermont with a whopping 40,000 inhabitants. which drops drastically when college ends for the year (unversity of vermont)...it's a beautiful 'city', just wayyyy too quaint.

Thanks for all this stuff guys, I find it really interesting. It's just always interested me for some reason! I get bored of big cities so fast, and I'd like to try rural America for a bit. Maybe somewhere like uber-rural Mississippi within earshot of a train going along at night and sounding its horn!!....

or Wyoming or something just incredibly remote!! Small towns with the basics and one or two franchises!

If you want to see truly small towns you've got to go to Australia.

Here's a picture of William Creek, South Australia (Average Population: 16)
