heheh no kidding.

What I'm wondering is how the gun passed thru the metal detection & friskings.

As for keeping everyone there and questionning everyone before they leave.... that's not likely to work, considering the entire place (500+ people) panicked and rushed for the doors the instant the 1st shot went off. The shooter probably would have taken "precautions" if the cops sealed the place for questionning immediately.

metal detectors won't do anything .. if someone really wants to shoot someone that nite they'll find a way, be it inside the club or outside

When I used to be a bouncer and we noticed the bar starting to get a little to rough we would request a change in tunes from the DJ. it was kind of a slack type bar where we let people get away with a lot so when it got bad we knew it was time to make some changes fast to calm things down.
St. Patty's day one year a guy was hitting on a girl. she never told the guy she had a boyfriend. boyfriend shows up and tells the guy to f off. he's pissed but walks away. 10 seconds later we get called to the area because the boyfriend when to the pool tables in the back, grabbed a pool ball and sidearmed it across the room and it split the first guys head.

It was deemed time to stop playing gangsta rap for the night.

the quote by "boa" above explains why. It was the current ownership and/or security, ie someone who knew security or the ownership probably had gotten in and didn't need to be frisked or searched as is the case. Hence the shooting, or it was just done outside of the club...

I know this would be a severe inconvenience to people, but at least this way, they would actually be able to question people and get some key tips.

Also im sure the club would have a closed circuit tv system, no?

Question 700 people? That would take days

it can be done. This club easily held a few thousand.

This is getting ridiculously out of hand. Stabbings and shootings in the club district are becoming way too common.

theres no way this would've happened at a regular boa event.

i dont understand why they (sound emporium) would choose NOT to use the metal detectors though?

especially for a hip-hop/reggae event fuck.
