The iMac is a desktop, only the iBook and Powerbook (now called Macbook) are laptops.

I think with your system you will be able to go down to 3ms easy, even at 7 or even 9 I think you wouldn't notice it, unless your a damn good scratcher.

I could be wrong but i'm not sure if the macbook is taking over the powerbook. The macbook is a beast though.. Haven't seen a review on how well it works with Dj'ing software from anyone on here yet.

I dunno where you can get it from, but I think your iBook can run it easily, you might want to add some more ram though.

N3lly, the Macbook is the Intel CPU replacement for the G4 Powerbook, so far the macbook is lightning fast but alot of apps are still running in emulation (rosetta), native running apps just fly, the beta version of Ableton for it (running Native) is supposed to be incredible, CPU usage is extremely low.

ok thanks for that mate, i can get ram dirt cheap for the ibook, so prob upgrade it by a gig or so.
its just annoying that all uk prices are £430 ish then when you lookk at the product on ebay you can get it from usa for £300ish, but then theres the taxes/import duties cost on top. just wasnt sure wheres best to get it from.

thanks for the help anyway mate.

They will.. but Mac's tend to get used more in Production and heavy requirement applications (Albeton, SSL, FS/FS2, Reason, Video editting software, etc) as that is more what they are designed for.. But PC laptops can do the job.. its mostly a preference I find..

SSL isn't very resource intensive.
