so...how will they determine someone's age if the average person doesn't even have to stop and identify themselves to police when out in public? Because someone "looks 16 or under" would hardly stand up as just cause in court, I would think?

i agree, i think this is a stupid idea. big waste of police resources, when they should be using such resources to fight certain crimes that are on the rise.

i don't think a law like this would be effective at all. It makes me sad tho, that 12 year old children have parents that don't care enough about them to make sure they are home at a decent hour and are kept safe. I wasn't even allowed to play out on the street past 9pm when I was 12, and I never would have even thought about going to a club at that age.

Ah yes. My favourite topic. Lack of parental responsibility.

and now they are trying to ban all ages events. So i cant wait to see what happens when kids have nothing to do and end up getting into EVEN MORE trouble.

This is exactly what happened after raves were shut down. All those kids had nowhere to go. Is it a coincidence that youth crime went up after raves were shut down? Id say not.

I have no problem with banning all age events...however...make events available for those under 18...sure...they won't get to go see tiesto or armin or pvd but they can still get out and party.

Personally, I don't think a curfew will work as how many kids under 16 actually have proper ID on them. I don't disagree that one should be implemented though. If parents are not going to raise kids properly then why should I have to be worried that my property or even my life might be in danger because of some punk ass kid....and yes I know...there are many punk ass kids who are over 16.

Best way to solve the problem....treat them all like adults and make them face the same punishments as adults. When little Jonny goes to jail for slitting 12 year old Jenny's throat...maybe the next little Jonny will think twice.

When they talk about banning all ages events, what they mean are events which underagers are allowed to attend. meaning most likely you cannot go to clubs until you are 19. That will kill off the club industry even more because you are most impressionable in high school. By the time you are 19 you already have set habits on how you enjoy spending time (and what music you like)

And i agree, dump the young offenders act.
