I only ever go on here to have the odd look in and sell records

Yeah, but most of us in TO know each other and still post. Plus, there are many here that have moved into the love of house music, but that doesn't mean they leave TA- we can converse about all genres on here.

Did many leave w/the advent of UKTA.tk? That was my impression a while back.

You're not as dead as Finnish TA yet Peeps you should start a UK party thread or something and keep it strictly to the quality UK trance nights. I know there is dontstayin but thats a bit too big and not a selected agenda.

Btw, planning to come over to the UK in 2-3 weeks time or so...heard there was a raid in The Fridge in Brixton :/ Is it back open yet?

we've not all moved out of trance totally, however the credibility of it is low. There's several things keeping things quiet, foremost many of the older members use diff sites now (not ukta.tk tho, thats a totally diff thing with not as many of the old ukta lot)

Sadly, this place in general has gone downhill, we're not all centered around one city like TO is, which makes gatherings more of an annual type thing to put together. A lot of us have grown up too, before everyone was at school or uni, most of the ppl now work which means they don't have the time to come on, and a few have just plain moved on. Not nec to house music, but out of edm altogether. Much of this is due to the awful mainstream perception, not many new people come in knowing what trance is or was in any manner, and it makes things hard.

when i was a nyta (2000-2004) i used to pop in the ukta cuz there were some damn funny threads. not to mention the ukta's takin' the piss out of the entire TA forums...(and yes, i will admit the nyta's didn't stand a chance when you guys invaded. )

now that i live in the UK...i rarely even pop in the ukta forums.

Agree with the not being centred around one city, that would make the forum a lot more activer.

I totally agree with those who say the Trance scene in the UK is dead, I've long gone off trance listen to the occasional liveset download the occasional tune but I can't be bothered with it anymore I've been listening to a lot more house and electro music these days, because my tastes have matured, yes there is some decent trance out but it's not how it was years ago the fun has gone out it and variety has turned into cloned formulatic shite. I have personally moved on.

Also the festivals here, would go to an event and watch Sasha & Diggers, Zabiela, Desyn and co but I'll be fucked if I have to go to some massive event full of a load of little fucking pikeys it lacks class.

the club scene in the uk died pretty badly as far as trance was concerned, coupled with mainstream trance getting shit and all sounding the same, then popular dj's either playing that shit music or changing to some genre not everyone likes, kinda makes it hard for everyone to talk about the same stuff anymore.

which in turn means less party reviews, not really many weekly ngihts people would think of going to, most of the time it's dj joe bloggs playing armins last playlist. nobody really cares about that sorta crap anymore and everyone has gone their own ways from it. i mean, i still like trance in different forms and i'm sure a lot of other people here still do, but people have gone down different routes or left trance alltogether.

Well, trance in the UK is as limp as an Amsterdamian whore but ive just come back from Ayia Napa and the clubs over there are full of it, The Castle mainly. An it's not the cheesy shite that we all loathe but fresh, uplifting stuff that is really banging. It's fucking amazing shit and I loved every tune.

Either my musical tastes are complete bollocks or you are all being extra sensitive.
