John,
After going through this mix once my initial impression is that your mix if of very high quality for the most part. The mix's vibe is depicted perfectly in that picture you posted, very dreamy trance... or so I thought. The first 40 minutes was very, very entertaining. I found myself kept checking back in Winamp to see where I am in the mix and how I'm feeling corresponding to the time and I must admit you took me on quite an emotional rollercoaster even though it's all dreamy prog trance. Although a few of the transitions had some melody clash, the meat of the tracks redeemed themselves and you surprised me a few times by bringing energy when least expected. Although track 08 and 09 were a bit disappointing, especially track 08 because there were 2 completely floor-stopping breakdowns, it really drops the gear down on your overall drive but again you managed to pick the mix back up with a mind blowing track 10.
I really can't put a finger on this mix except that through it all I can sense confidence in your choice of songs, you stuck by it and you give the listener reason to keep listening even when the song isn't very good. I'm sure everyone has heard inappropriate or weird tracks played by their favorite DJs, but the performer stuck by it and uses the ackwardness to provide a new angle or launchpad for succeeding songs that will blow the roof off and you did exactly that towards last 1/3 of the mix.
Overall this mix is an 8.5/10 out of me and I invite everyone to really sit down with this mix, it's quite a ride. I like this better than your last mix just because it surprised me at every turn.

Ah Thanks Rain, i still play your departure mix, to me its a masterpiece that will always be on my hard drive, thank you for your review. You were right about the some of the tracks, they are not the best but i chose them because of the elements they had; for example, mark otten's so serene, when the breakdown hits straight into a choir with a classy piano melody. This is rare in todays EDM so i took advantage, and moscow morning's epic saw like breakdown which came from the old days of epic trance way back in 2000. If a track had something special in it, i used it. Anyhow I'm glad you liked this mix more than my last one, please keep me posted on your newest mix, thanks.
