get sp2. update windows. run ad-aware + spybot. problem solved.

I have this exact setup. Production box is on network but no internet. I simply gave it a static IP and gave it bogus gateway.

I acctually found the option in my router to disallow internet access to a specific computer on the network.

Would I be better off if I just changed the default gateway on my music production computer from 192.168.15.1 to something bogus like 123.456.78.9 or whatever?

Just delete the entry for the gateway. You can only do this if you followed my method and assigned an IP by hand.

As for blocking on the router, You need to block by MAC address, not ip address as if your computer obtains a new ip address via DHCP (it's off for a time and your router gives out that address to another computer that computer will be blocked and yours allowed)..

In answer to the other question, I'm shaky on quantium theory and how to balance my checkbook to name two things that spring to mind. :-)
