It fits in the back pocket of my jeans and I wear jeans from Express, so the phone really isn't that big. 650 has a lot less problems than the 600 or 700. If I were you, I'd wait for the 750 to come out. It's be a bit pricer, but a lot more stable than the 700. The 650 is a good investment, but be very protective, because a few drops into it, and your in need of serious repair. |
Agreed with all points. Lots of people, specifically razr owners will tell you it's too big and heavy, but whenever that happens I just start playing around with the thing - I whip out my new york street map and scroll around it with the touch screen a bit, I boot up my nintendo emulator and play a little super mario 3, then I bitch slap their razr and tell 'em to shut up.
If you do get a treo, unless you absolutely need windows ce, stick with the palm version as the windows one has reduced screen resolution (240x240 vs. 320x320) which can be hugely problematic when you're trying to watch pr0n on the subway or something like that.
Oh motorola has the worst user interface i've ever used. I've owned phones from a lot of the big brands - sony ericsson, nokia, motorola, samsung, and palm - and motorola had by far the worst. Their menu system is just awful, text messaging is useless (tiny memory - and stupid memory management in general), and the customizability is seriously lacking. This was about 2 years ago so they might have made some improvements although after a quick spin in the razr recently it would seem they haven't.
I've heard some good things about Samsung's D600 although that won't work with Verizon. Don't know much about the A950...
Edit: Oh, I dropped my treo onto a subway platform and then down onto the subway tracks and the thing didn't have a scratch on it. Either I got super lucky or the thing is built like a tank.
