....OR they're just being realistic & admitting not enough people buy music nowadays for them to cover the production costs well enough

...hence "not good enough for release". Back in the day labels actually had to consider what they would release and what to reject. Nowadays they can just sell everything to us because there's no expenses. Where's the quality control?
