Ever thought the high numbers are because of how many cities there are?
Take Australia for example. 9 appearances but he's only been here twice.

Ok, the US is overrepresented because there is a lot of money there, but theres also probably 10-15 cities he can play at every tour, compared to maybe 2 in the UK, 1 or 2 in Holland, 4 or 5 in Aus etc.

So to do the same number of appearances as one US tour (say 15) he needs to go to:
UK 5 times (and thats if he does a tour, usually he's over for one gig)
Holland 7-15 times
Australia 3 times.

I realize there are lots of cities in the US, but population wise, we're not that big. Especially our EDM population.

Certainly he could find an equal number of cities in all of Europe, no?

Maybe he likes the US.

Well if you add up his UK appearances, German, Holland etc you would find that yes, he does play more in all of Europe

There are three times as many people living here in the UK than in the entire of Australia, and there are a lot more than two cities here. I bet he plays quite a few gigs in the UK on each visit- especially as he plays the big festivals in the summer.

Yes, but your population is much more compact than here in Aus. I wasn't saying there were only 2 cities, I was guesstimating about the number of cities he would play in at once in the UK.

The multiple city thing is something you have to consider. When he comes to the U.S. he doesn't just stop in one or two cities. For instance, he'll hit L.A., San Fransico, Vegas, Chicago, Cleveland, Dettroit, D.C., Miami, New York, and maybe Houston (I think he's even done Houston a couple times but I could be wrong).

Then you have to consider land mass and fan base. I know PVD heads would do it, but he could play two different gigs two nights in a row at two different clubs in New York and just due to geographics pull almost completely different crowds both nights cause people might not want to drive all the way across town to see him. If you think about it like this, all of Germany would fit inside Texas. One one hand you have one entire country, and on the other just one of 50 states. We're the third largest country in the world in terms of sheer population and growing everyday.

We might not have nearly the percentage that countries in Europe do, but were here and we like to party. That's the biggest reason. We love to party and spend money, and to besides the whole idea behind commericalized music is money. Let's all be honest here. If you were PVD you wouldn't mind making the kind of money he does touring. I don't think anyone can honestly say they would.

But in any event, I'm spreading the word all the time and exposing people to EDM in hopes of fixing that percentage issue. More and more people are catching on too. I never thought I would see the day that good ole boring ass hickish Indianapolis would have star talent coming through, but thanks to some hard working promoters and a club owner that had faith in the idea I didn't even have to drive 15 mintues from my house to see Hernan when a year or two ago I would have had to go to Chicago. The show was packed too.

Ya don't say. They're kind of paying him more often because he's there more often. Now, if you meant they're paying him more period, that's debateable. But saying that they're paying him more often than others is kind of silly cause that's what he gets paid for; showing up.

Deejays honestly don't give a shit where they play (with a few exceptions) as long as they get what they ask for and little attitude.
