For me the bottom line is responsibilty. Be responsible to stay away from the high risk drugs such as G. Be responsible to consume in moderation. Be responsible to understand the fine line between a party and your real life.

For me I started partying in the scene 4 years before I tried the drugs. I've definetly had my moments of over indulgence. But as I get older I realize that its become harder to recover and overall less enjoyable. So i've been going out more and more these days with a few drinks in me and you remember how great partying is. The night is more clear, the coversations are better with less sketch factor. And in the end as long as you are with great friends and good tunes then who the fuck needs a chemical high when you have a natural one?

i remember reference to drugs on here was a rarity or disguised immensely. now we even have users with drug names/references blatant in their handles let alone the need for at least one reference at least in almost every thread about "Sketchiness"

obviously this has increased with increased usage

Post of the year. (or possibly in all of trancEaddicts existance for that matter)

(and a must read for many TA's i know)

Things are starting to get WAY out of hand with some people.....

Scary thing is..... I dont think many of the people who have a problem, even realize it!? I could be wrong, but it seems like they just tell themselves enough times that what they are doing is just like everyone else.

Maybe everyone who reads this should PM those who they think have a problem in confidentiality, if you receive more than one.... you likely have a big problem on your hands.

since 99% of us dont have the balls to say it to their face (including myself)

If we want to have a good summer, this post has to be read and understood by everyone.

This is not preaching, there is no secret intentions, there is no reading between the lines, these are facts.

If you need any help, now is the time.

Great post Nat! I'm also particularly distressed by the number of people I know that are starting to experiment with G. I've met loads of people who use G on a regular basis and I asked several of them to explain to me how they use it (quantities, frequency, etc.) and why so many people seem to get it wrong and end up G'd out and layed out on the floor.

They all made it sound so foolproof and easy to handle, yet EVERY SINGLE ONE of them admitted to G'ing out on several occasions. None of them seemed to think this was anything to worry about. I don't pretend to know the science behind it, but this sounds like Russian roulette to me.

It just doesn't seem worth it. God knows I love my drugs, but if I ever get to the point where E and K can't get me high, I'm running straight to rehab. I mean...there's alot of drugs out there to choose from if you feel the need....why the fuck would you pick the one that might kill you....or WORSE....shit your pants (no idea how true this is, but I've heard that this is possible from several sources)!!

I guess some people just have to push the envelope. Of course, unless someone close to you dies, you never believe it can happen to you. You know there's potential consequences, but they're in the future somewhere and it's way more fun to just get high and dance and not think about them. I suppose that's the point of getting high. Vicious cycle.

good call. I had to quit because I developed an irregular heartbeat. Also, as I became more and more of a fan I realized I have just a good a time, perhaps even more when I'm just downing a few drinks. lol I guess that's what happens when you haven't gone sober to a party in like 2 years.

I agree...it gets to the point where what people used to consider as extreme is now what is consumed "in moderation". Their habit which is "under control" used to be "pushing their limits".

It shouldn't be a pill a line and a cap, each time you go out (because you know people who are doing three of each), but rather going out certain nights and doing no drugs whatsoever.

I recall a thread a couple months ago where someone was looking for info on how to hang out in the Guv without doing any drugs. They were so miserable and couldn't make it through the night.

I quit the hard shit a long time ago, and all I do is drink now, and not even that much. I might hit a J every couple months, but even that is rare. Nah, I'm no saint, because I've had some pretty damn rockstar points in my life. But when people who haven't done what I've done can't even leave it alone, that's an issue.

And guys, please don't wait until you're at the point where you think you need to make a change. Go a day hear and there without it entirely. It will help you keep the music a part of your life when you do let go of the drugs completely.

Thank you for the post. Cue taken.

A fellow tranceaddict actually mentioned this similar type of behaviour a couple of years ago, when I was less then aquanted with TA. I didn't believe him. I didn't know the TAs, their lifestyles or party lives, so I just thought it was unwarranted critisism.

This type of post just goes to show that TAs do infact care. Its not just about the party, or just about the music, its about the community.

agreed...

You realy don't need it. I'd rather wear down my body on my own. Take for example decadence. 12 hours of dancing non stop, no chemicals, natural, booze, nothing...... only to fall over at the end and be carried home... if you are going to wear yourself, do it so that the only thing you will need to heal yourself is a good nights rest. (and maybe a bath of epsom salts)
