First off: Cheap decks are .1% at any pitch.
Second, the CDJ-1000MK2 is only .02% at 6%, and is .05% at 10%.
Regardless, if you can't mix with .05% pitch resolution (or .1% for that matter), you stink and blame it on the pitch resolution
The 3500 is a worthy contender against the Pio's. If denon releases the firmware update soon that fixes the few bugs that were found, that'll be the case even more so. The CDJ-1000's DID have problems when they were released. People tend to not remember, since that was nearly 5 years ago now! |
Sorry dude nice try,
Tempo Control
A new 100mm linear high precision slider connected to a 0.02% (at +/- 6% and +/- 10%) adjustment indication on the display panel. Gives the DJ’s that total control and ensures that the tempo adjustment is easy and accurate.

Yeah it does suck for those who can't mix at 0.05%, anyway click my banner, its competely flawless at 0.05%

Dude I OWN CDJ-1000's MK2's, and they are .05% at +/- 10%.
That why EVERY TIME I TURN THEM ON I switch to 6% mode
Their website is wrong, seriously (I did look, and it does say what you said). The manual, on the other hand, is correct:
"7 Selecting range of tempo adjustment
Press the TEMPO ±6/±10/±16/±100 WIDE button.
Each time the button is pressed the variable range of the Tempo Control knob
changes as follows: ±6%, ±10%, ±16% and ±100%. You can adjust as follows: at
±6% :0.02%units, at ±10%:0.05%units, at ±16% :0.05%units, at ±100%:0.5%units.
The set variable range value is indicated in the display."
People REALLY place so much importance on that "resolution" number, equating it's importance to the ".01% wow and flutter" numbers for Technics 1200's.
In reality the two are very different numbers... CD's have NO wow and flutter and TT's (while having an analog pitch slider with theoretically no pitch resolution), have so many other things going against them in terms of accuracy that the ".01%" number doesn't mean much, nevermind being equal to pitch resolution.
.02% is very nice, yes. But .05% is perfectly fine as well. I mean, usually I get the pitch to within .05%-.1% of what it should be and "fix it" if need be while in the mix without it being audible.
