Right on!
Jobe5454, I'm glad you started this thread. I'm with you totally. Don't get me wrong, I had a good time overall on Saturday, but not nearly as good as it could have been. For the first 2 hours of Ferry's set I did not enjoy it at all as it was impossible to dance, no matter where I went. In fact, it was torture. Hearing awesome tunes, but unable to release to it. Then slowly there started to be a little more room. It really wasn't till about 5am that I was able to find some room to dance, and actually most of my dancing ended up being to Mark Oliver's set (which was surprisingly good) cuz that's when there was room.
As for the overall bullshit of the Guv ritual (which they're not unique for, but the worse for sure), I'm again with you all. They bullshit they put you through, and the attitude from some of the bouncers is just inexcusable. I'm usually pretty calm at clubs, but this time I almost ended up in a fight with a bouncer right at the start of the night cuz he was screaming at me to "keep moving" when there was just nowhere to go! Then he starts threatening to throw me out cuz I asked "where do you want me to move to??"
Anyway, thanks for taking the initiative, I will definitely write a letter and send it to you. ShAwZy's idea of a new thread is a good one, and give it a revolutionary name to attract more people, LOL.
Oh, and I honestly have to think twice about going to the Guv even when there are good DJs going if things don't change. And I don't agree that it's the same everywhere. I haven't been to that many clubs in town as I'm new to the area, but at least System I've been to several times and although it does get busy there, it's still possible to dance, or find a corner with more space. That's even when they had big names like Nick Warren or Danny Howells there.
