Where you can smoke:

¥ Outdoor terrasses (patios) provided it is not covered. Designated shelters outside bars, although no music or bar service allowed

¥ Closed, ventilated smoking, until May 30, 2008, when only managers and employees can access it

¥ A maximum 40 per cent of the rooms in a residential psychiatric institution, residential and long-term care centre, rehab centre or shelter for the indigent or distressed. Smoking rooms are allowed

¥ A maximum 40 per cent of rooms in a tourist facility

¥ Cigar lounges that existed prior to May 10, 2005, as long as it satisfies certain criteria

there was never an agreement with the industry about the exterior patio smoking thing, it was part of the law all along. This means, the Govt did not bend to these demands.

Shisha place will be allowed to operate.

Other than that, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS NO MORE CIGS!!!!

Most people around me already don't smoke, so I won't hear any nagging

In the winter it'll suck, but hopefully all you smokers will take this as a hint to get a bit healthier.

As far as afterhours goes though, oh wow, boohoo no smoking, still lots of unhealthy shit goin on in there as we all know.

I can't believe this. I'm gonna come back from Greece and not be allowed smoking in clubs?? Horrible. Not much point in smoking anymore...as like many others, my fave time to smoke is while drinking.

I pray we can still smoke at after hours on the DL...Aria without smoking joints???? Impossible.

Yeah I agree, I always found it so shamefull when my aunt kept saying "well we have to die of something dont we?". Well my uncle (her brother) died of lung cancer and he was only 40 his kid was around 14. And yes she still smokes

yeah well you also have to think about all the other people in the club that are annoyed by the smoke when you smoke inside. Thats the whole point of this law. And its a health hazard for other people.

hehe yeah they could do that like they used to have in some tim hortons. But it would split the crowd, kind of killing the mood and I guess it cant be done in most clubs/bars.

Im gonna miss being smashed in a club and just taking out that beautiful ciggarate and smoking it as if it was the best thing in the world I don't even smoke but those occasional ones in the club/bar are allways so amazing DAM THE WORLD!
