I use my left ear, but mainly because the wires on my HD25 are on the right ear. (the Red cable goes into the right ear) And i've always kept the red on the right ear and black/blue on the left ear. (remember the game boy earphones!! lol)
Sometimes i'll slap the other ear on then after i've beatmatched the tracks just to see what it sounds like..

I generally use my left ear when cueing at first but then just use both to get the BPM the same, then back to left ear for cueing when to bring in the tune.

I use my left ear aswell, I think its because, as mentioned, the wire is on that side...

I read an article where with the human body, the left ear hears music better.
Not sure how relevant that would be to what ear you cue in while DJing, but interesting regardless.
Originally posted by Lunar Phase 7 I know if your left brain develops earlier in childhood, you are almost certain to be right handed and right footed.
Likewise if your right side develops first your gonna be a left handed person.
Maybe there is no connection, but I cue with left but am right handed?
WTF am I talking about?
I highly doubt there's any connection with the brain itself. If there's any correlation at all it's probably with the fact that your being right handed has gotten you used to instinctively doing things a certain way. That being said, I'm left handed and I use my right ear.

im so afraid of my ears man, its like i dont almost deer to dj anymore.
I know exactly what you're talking about and it's actually getting me down quite a bit.. I have a quite a nice SQ system in my car which goes fairly loud as well and often i'll decide not to spin if i've been driving and listening to music for the majority of the day just because i'm worried about listening to music for too long in the day!
Now a days my ears will ring for maybe a whole day to two days if i go out to see a dj. I hate it! Scares the shite out of me!
