Bang on the money. Me wants a SuperNova. Brought onw last weekend, tested it, and it had a fucked DSP. The search continues.

That's a Roland MKS-80, and it was released in 1984. This is the synth that the JP-8000 is trying to be. The JP may have supersaw chords, but the MKS-80 has detuned 8 voice unison VCOs, with Curtis Filter chips. In short it's beyond phat and has a presecence in a mix that is so total it becomes annoying trying to find sounds that hold a candle to it. :-)
