I tell ya, this shit is crazy! If I were Marco, I wouldn't want to go back to a country that deports someone just because there is a small problem with documentation. I know they are a little on edge after Sept 11, but Marco is a superstar DJ. It's not like there aren't plenty of other countries who would welcome the guy with open arms now, is it?

Would someone like Oakey or Van Dyk have problems like that?! I think not.

barryfigiel

Im sure immigrations dont give a shit whether you are a superstar or a normal citizen. Their job is to stop people with improper documentation from entering their country. They have every right to check docs, personal items etc. Everyone has to go through the same procedures.

Ha Ha!

That's a good one!

Next time he has a show in the US, he should come here first and do a few shows and then hop the border somewhere. I don't think that would be too difficult.

Why would Marco V try to come in the U.S. without the proper ID. Does he not read/see the news. They aren't fucking around at the airports anymore, and I guess he learned it the hard way. He really has no one to blame but himself. Must have been a nice quick round trip from Holland the the States in back. Sucks to be him.

It might be a working Visa problem. Mac Zimms was brought to Canada one time and his Visa didn't arrive on time so he couldn't even get on the plane here. Shitty for Marco V and I hope he comes to Canada sometime!

Yeh you're right...

And sorry about the dig aimed at Americans! It was uncalled for! I must have had a rush of blood to my head or something!

Things like this have happened before and will happen again. Miscommunication, lack of proper paperwork, lack of knowledge of immigration office procedures etc are always a factor, and very few people are actually 100% familiar with these since they are oftentimes very different from country to country.

I am very impressed by the way the promoter handled the situation. Lost Atlantis is definitely a shining example other promotion / production companies should look up to. Very professional and fair towards the partygoers. The only bad thing is that I'm certain that they lost a LOT money because of their honesty.
