yea but what about the coding, isn't it different here in the states? i remember i had a japanese ps1 it wouldn't play US games
As far as I know PS3's, just like PSP's are region free. Won't matter once I sell them though. All sales are final! No returns, no refunds!

As long as you can get the device on the first night, then you're fine. If anyday after, you won't do so hot on selling them away.
Why do you say that? I'm looking to sell them on Ebay ideally, right before Xmas when people are desperate and kids are whining to their parents about how PS3 is the only thing they want from Santa. As long as they're all out of stock by then I'll be okay. I wouldn't even sell it to a friend or relative for less than double price

There's no telling when the second shipment will be coming in. The case is usually that the people that really want and need the console will either stand on line and purchase it then or buy it off ebay during the first few nights. After the first shipment, the stores should be seeing more regular shipments of the consoles. If that's the case then the prices will dip fairly low on ebay. If the console is released in early November, the holiday season might see a normal amount of units in stores. This whole thing is unpredictable, to be honest.
That's pretty dick of you if you wouldn't cut a close person some slack.

I see I see. I'll definately keep that in mind. Honestly I'm planning a trip to Tokyo right before Xmas lasting into the beginning of January (unless there are some seriously bangin' DJ's in NYC) and I want to rack in some extra spending money before I leave.
As for cutting people some slack ... eeh, I guess I'll see how things are in November. Only thing I'm really concerned about is the PS3's that I will have to physically pick up from the game stores and saftely make it back home with .

Bring a box from some other object that's big enough to hold the PS3(s + games + accessories). I was first on the list for 360's at the local Circuit City for the second shipment so when they received them they called me in and handed me a random torn open box with the 360 in it. Pandemonium if people saw what it was.

I wonder how PS3 will prevent game piracy on this system. I guess it will reduce the rate because the Blue Ray Disc is like over 9GB right?
