It's the first thing I noticed moving from Montreal to Toronto just over 10 years ago.

Hip Hop just doesn't go in neither MTL nor Quebec. The French speaking majority just can't understand or associate with hip hop culture. Ever hear of a Rappeur Québecois? But it is more appreciated on the west (anglophone) side of the city more.

Lack of appreciation of English-speaking culture results in loss of interest, like the Alouettes and the Expos.

(Alouettes have since returned, but to an English part of the city and an affordable stadium)

France is a whole different story.

NTM (Nique Ta Mère) was (is?) HUGE when I was in France.

why is hip hop more popular in toronto clubs? i think bcuz its slower than house. more ppl wanna just have a few drinks and shake their asses rather than actually dance. grinding is also much easier to hip hop. but then why is house more popular in montreal? i guess the only conclusion is that torontonians are lazy.

Hip hop is played more in stores here in Taipei......and they don't edit the words. Hell I doubt most of them even understand what these rappers are saying.

I'll never forget the day I walked into McDonalds here after smoking a joint and hearing Bob Marley....I don't know why but I just felt grand at that single moment.

To really make a point, I find that you need a whole lot more dots in your posts than that. The amount you have is good for beginners, but to really make an "oomph" with your post, you need at least three times that amount.

Just an FYI for the future.
