Didn't anyone take my comments into cosidiration?
Well I own 5 HDDs in my system! all of them 30Gig 7200 drives. And build PCs from the scratch and sell them as well from time to time. So i know quite alot about PCs. Tranex owns a K6 system. IBM won't do any good cause they have backwards compability issues. How i know? because i fucked up 3 of'em in a 33mbs IDE 0 channel. He won't have an ATA100 controller on his system as it is. IBMs are prone to fuckup on slower systems.....

As i said; if you gonna keep that PC you've got, buy that 5200 drive and you'll be happy with that. Buying a 7200 (which will be an ATA100) won't make any difference. SEAGATE is the way to go also QUANTUM is not too bad. I punish them every day to da MAX and they're very happy with that!!. WD's and IBM, i had more than one bad experience with them....

Why you buying it from the web maan? Go to your local PC joint and grab one... Save the hassle for Garrantie/warranty issues.

yeah i agree, go down to the local shop instead, its much better with warranties and all, yeah 7200rpm is prob a good way to esp with seagate, western digital or quantum (thats what i got 40gig) actually the fastest speed hdd you can get is the cheetah X15 which goes at 15000rpm but if your goin to get anything at or above 10000rpm its best to get a housing fan to cool the bastards or you'll have a meltdown...remember at higher speeds the hard drive goes, the noiser and hotter it gets. Also the motherboard may not be able to support a housing fan
Prob be better if you don't go for too much large size as your processor can't handle it well and be slow as well to start up...in which case that can be fixed with a drive partion
Oh yeah if u have a shitty video card it will just be a bottleneck in the cpu so it doesn't matter if u have a gd processor or a fast hard drive because down the line it will still run like a bitch

I rekon u shud go 4 a IBM Deskstar 60GXP 61.5GB hd, u can get a 30gb 1 in the 75gxp range but its only a little bit cheaper so its not worth the downgrade... I think its 7200rpm and i no its got good access times etc.

Also i wudnt worry about the rpm if ur just using it 2 store mp3 files or for non-intensive applications... it won't make much difference 2 those...

ugh...im one ethernet and i have a 10 gig, which when it was empty was still only like 6GB free...damn windows. i think i really need another drive - juggling several hundred MB free sucks. then again spending money on stuff that doesnt involve partying would make my savings go bye bye very quickly...late/
