uh where are you seeing this at?
Ive been seeing the mk3 around $1100 and the mk2 around $1000. Id like to know where you found it so cheap. or did you just find the mk3 really expensive?

The differences between the 800/1000

800s
Basic loop functions
Beat Chopper
Vinyl Emulation
Basic Display
Master Tempo
Reverse

1000s
Ability to save loop points on SD card
Ability to save Hot Cues on SD card
Ability to save CUE points on SD card
Enhanced Waveform display
Looping functions
Vinyl Emulation
Master Tempo
Reverse
User adjustable tension on the platter

Those are feature differences

From our tests here, the 1000s have a larger memory buffer in them also.

Hope this is helpful.

supply and demand! the mk3's released, the demand for the mk2 drops. so the price drops with it to compensate for that, pretty soon the mk3 will replace the mk2. hence the price drop .

Another major difference between the 800MK2 and the 1000MK3 is the components. The 800's feel lighter and cheaper. But in all honesty, the 800's work perfect. I still yet to use all the added features of the 1000MK3.

good call on that

hands down, all i can say:

the cdj-800mk2s ROCK! i mean uh, TRANCE!

great for mixing all types of genres...just ordered myself a couple of those, lovin' every bit of them....feels identical to the cdj-1000 mk(x) platter, but if you still want to go the extra notch with the platter feel adjust and hot cues and slightly more accurate pitch (significantly UN-noticable), and uhh...whatever other minor features here and there (visit www.pioneerdj.com for more info), then yeah im sure the 1000s will also OWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
