Yeah, I didn't know there was more confusion related to this... I know people tend to say "if I was you" rather than "if I were you", so there seems to be a shift. What else do people usually mix up?

'if i was' and 'if i were' can both be used.

i cant stand when people use was and were the wrong way. for example the dogs was there, etc.
