listening.....love da bassline.
fxs are good too.
the break now....nice atmospheric pads and fxs, kopi's melody is good sounding too.
nice drive after the break.
really liked it.

now, because it's not gonna get released, if i were you i would came up with a nice and maybe a bit more trancy melody and do an original work. keep all the other elements.

cheers

Don't take this from me, I've already been disappointed enough about this lousy contest and the release being cancelled.

cheers !

subtle : no, I didn't get the $50 prize ...

but I can't complain so much about that, since Kopi helped me getting a track on a compilation a few months ago, I guess it compensates.

snowave : yeah you did leave a comment, but the thread got deleted twice already

sphere : nice idea, I might do that sometime !

thanks to No Boundaries and Adam too

yeah, kopi seems like a nice guy, i don't think it was his fault, maybe the label.

Great Remix , as usual quality trance by you Static Blue

Maybe the reason why Kami didnt want you to post the track here, its because he has sended the track to Armin via is ftp site

Too bad the release got cancelled.

The fx/wooshes are pretty cool threw out the track. The kick is very strong but i think the low-mid end is a bit too dominate. ( cut some frequencies like 125 hz maybe, just scan threw the frequencies untill you got it ) The piano and gitar sounds a bit too fake imo, but it fits nicely in the track so i wouldn't worry about that.

In the release part after the break, i'm missing alot of energy. Also the bass doesn't really have any bass. It has alot of mid range, but that's about it. Maybe put a layer underneath it that has the bass? ( i noticed you have 2 different basslines playing at the same time, so i'm not sure if it's a good idea. But maybe you can try it out and see if it sounds better though. )

The arp in the intro doesn't really do anything for me. The fx really are really cool in the track. The atmospheres in the break are really great. Did you make those yourself on a synth or are they sample based? I'm beginning to hear those pluckish saw sounds alot lately with similiar chord stabs. The bassline is ok, but it's not very original too.

I haven't heard the original myself, but the remix is cool. It has some very nice sounds in it, especially the fx and the pad stuff in the break. Too bad they blew off the release, but it's there loss. I don't know for sure, but I think the entire track sounds a bit too thin, but that might just be me.

Listening...

Cool start, nice housey chords, and good kick too...
I don't like the way you bring the bass in, it's a bit generic. Sounds good though, could maybe do with a bit more low end to it.
Cool buildup as well..nice sounds overall, well mixed.
At the breakdown, nice pads here as well, good wide sound.
Piano is slick sounding too...the guitar is cool, reminds me of Don Henley - The Boys of Summer and also the DJ Sammy remix .
I think the pluck is a bit weak to carry the track, and is overdone in general.
The guitar is a really nice touch though..sounds tight.
Overall I enjoyed it, good remix..worth a release, but I don't know the details about why it was cancelled.
Ricky
