I truly wanted to understand what you were going for so I approached this mix on a day off and an open mind. A lot of the artists I recognize but it were the new tracks themselves that attracted me to this mix in the first place. The physical part of mixing is nice and tight, but the other aspect such as organization is something to point out. By organization I’m referring to a skill that can’t be taught at least to a certain extent. It’s being able to imagine how people will react when each track is dropped. Even though every transition was seamless I wasn’t feeling how you put this whole set together. It was hit or miss with each tune and sort of a drag to keep listening to. In the end I wasn’t able to enjoy the mix because of its organization and mediocre track selection. This surprised me after that chat we had a couple of days ago because I had high hopes for this set.

On a more positive note I really enjoyed the tracks you played at the 20, 41, 50, and the 64 minute marks as well as track 7.

Overall don’t be discouraged as I tend to be somewhat anal and confused when it comes to certain individual’s definition of uplifting trance versus taste.

I only gave it 2 listens before I had to leave town but I'm back now so a couple more rounds with this bad boy and I'll post up my thoughts. From what I recall it was a fun listen but I saw that long review Stevieboy posted up and I recall feeling the same way on certain parts of the mix. I'll explain in detail soon.

First class mix

John Paullino's mix is hands down one of the premier trance mixes of its kind ever to be posted to the TA DJ Promo forums...his tracklist is truly one of a kind, and his superb mixing skills only compliment his abilities as a top-notch, first class DJ talent. I look forward to seeing more of his work in the future, and wish him well on all of his current and future endeavors in the music industry.

Thanks for keeping it real.
This mix is truly amazing!

P.S.: I have listened to this mix 23 times so far, it's on my PowerMac, my iPod, and in my car stereo. OK...not all at one time. lol

good mix, but am i the only one who thinks the tracklist is way too average? it's just a selection of the major tracks out on the "uplifting" scene right now, no real extraordinary tracks in there... it's a good mix though, and you're a good DJ, but the t/l is just really bland.

Nice set Paullino. Some very beautiful, epic tunes throughout. It's a very enjoyable set but I did think that the progression and programing was just above-average. You started out with a couple good intro tracks and you finished with your most epic and uplifting ones. But other than that it was sort of a line of of new tunes. I probably just expect too much from you Paullino because you have blown me away in the past. Though there's no getting around the quality of this set. Great job man!
