My post was not directed to anyone specifically. It does say that I like to hear other people opinions on this. If it seems like it is directed to Chinamon because I quoted him and mentioned him then fine. I am also not saying that he doesn’t pay to get in or his drinks, just wanted his opinion on “showing support for each other”
Even though I do agree with you that being there does show “support” you really aren’t supporting what your friends do… IMO anyways. If the club does not pull in enough money in a night it tends to be very difficult to pay off those who helped you out and the DJ that you hired to play.
How do you think these owners pay their bar staff, their coat check staff, their door staff, their promoters, as well as many others. They can’t if people don’t spend money. Right?
Now I am not saying that everyone gets in for free or doesn’t pay for a drink, but many in this “scene” don’t. I have seen people try many things to get into a club for free (I know so and so). If you want these clubs to last you are going to have show your “support” by paying for shit not just by being there.
