I tend to avoid lots of breakdowns too, but probably not exclude breakdowns from a track. Would probably recomend playing something that doesn't really have one.

Also worth noting that you also get breakdowns with varying levels of energy too.



On a different note, always makes me smile when you see a guy say I have been beat matching for 2 months and I got that, now what?

good cues for dropping a track is a crash, the beginning of the kick from a breakdown or a "kick drop" (if you know what i mean), and the beginning or ending of a vocal phrase.

always look at your vmu display at the top of your mixer to keep your volumes normalized. i have a nasty habit of letting my mixes get louder and louder throughout a mix.
