what really annoys me, are the people who told me this style of music was shit last year, and now they cant get enough of it.

Bandwagon jumping is an edm curse.

just watch the next non existant genre that will be coined is hip house...damn people have already started using it for tunes like:

Sharon Philips-Want 2 Need 2(Switch or Trentmoller mix)
Stanton Warriors ft Beatnuts-Shake it up
Soul of Man-Sukdat(Rogue elements mix)

it kinda pisses me off when in reality tracks like this have existed for ages, now they get labeled something they arent.

minimal is minimal, like any other genre not every track can be good.

its an aquired taste, and not for those who want to just experience banging or euphoric beats. It has its own groove without being overpowering on elements like bass.

why get into such a hissy fit

the truth is that these tracks all have electro elements.. ok so they arent breakbeat with synth hits like stevie B or bambaataa but still they got cowbell and that tr-808 sound so they are some form of electro derivative

how else would you describe these tunes? they arent just regular sampled house because they mostly root their percussion from electro. Basslines house? maybe.. basselines italo? sometimes you can really stem from anything. We all know what people refer to when they say electro house. hence the HOUSE BIT otherwise we would just call it plain electro.

No they don't.

Electro isn't about cowbell and tr-808 sound.

Electrohouse does exist, but it does not have a lick to do with actual Electro. And people do call it Electro.

yes it is .. partially.. thats like saying freestyle isnt about teh synth hits.. It is.. and so is italo and electro (since they contain those elements. When people say electro house we know what they are talking about and the reason for that is because it contains some electro elements

this is an old argument. What would you call these songs then? house? Not descriptive enough. Standard beat freestyle house?, house with cowbells? house with synth hits

why dont we just call it electro house or Italo new age house, or hithouse house house

cause electro house doesnt exist right now
