I'm with you on the 3 year contracts. Like I had said before, I've had a cell phone for about 7 or 8 years now and I've always had the same month to month plan - or at least VERY similar ones - so I know what I want, and thus can commit to a 2 or 3 year plan with no worries.
As for phones...contracts aren't on the phones, they're so that you stay with the company themself and on the same plan. Most cell phone companies, if not all of them, let you upgrade to a new phone after a year or so. If you're lost your phone then you can still buy a new one and it won't effect your contract. This is all if you even want a new phone. You can use the same phone for a 3 year contract if you want to.
