damn some of you are pretty hardcore when it comes to buying vinyls. i've only started my own collection since late january and i've spent roughly $240 (canadian). oh wait, that doesn't average very low either...oh shit i better watch my budget

I average about £700 a month, depending on whats new.

for me it varies from week to week, it all depends on when i have time to go vinyl shopping.. i usually pick up about 10 records a month.. i know that seems low compared to the rest of you but its a lot for me seeing that i pay my own way for everything (including rent/car/food/bills/college).. i try to only by "must haves" if i am listening to something that is just "okay" then i can usually talk myself out of buying it w/o regrets later.. but sometimes i go crazy and come back from the vinyl shop w/ 10 tracks! sucks being in the U.S. because those damn imports are expensive

yeah no doubt just paying for shipping kills me already. if thats not so bad there are sites that only use fast shipping which costs way more and i can't choose a different method.

It's not about the quantity, it's about the quality... 5 years ago I bought everything that I though was ok... but most of these records I've never played. So what's the use of buying 'em all?

I usually buy 2 to 5 vinyls a week. Fortunately for me I got one of the best Recordstores near my school so I drop by once or twice a week. I have the oppurtunity to hear almost every promo, and then buy it a week later if I like it.

So I only get the stuff that I think is really good, and trust me, I'm a critic So I don't buy a lot of vinyl, but that's not because of the money. If there's something I want, I'll get it. Don't care about the price...

By the way, I only use mailorder when I can't get what I want in a store.
