Sometimes you get a song that isnt released when trading, and its 192 and you have no idea how the person you trade with came into possesion with this song.
So....
Thats why some people use low biterates........
though i would never engage in borderline illegal activities.... |
While I understand the trade part, it still doesn't answer the question........
Why would you use low bitrates to begin with. All music
(Whether recording vinyl into your pc or building from scratch) starts from a wav file.
This "No One Can Here A Difference" is something started
by people who's stereo is their MP3 Player. You know, consumer music fans.
We as DJs, should be using the highest bitrate possible to
ensure the best quality.
Hard Drives are so cheap nowadays, you can store high quality files, and, have multiple drives. It's still smaller than carrying CDs, muchless vinyl to match the
capacity of a Hard Drive.
This is no way aimed towards you, but, more so, to those
who religiously convert from .wav to mp3 using low bitrates.
We now have the oppertunity to buy music files from Beatport
and companies alike files that are .wav & High Quality MP3s
cheaper than buying vinyl.
Who remembers paying $10.00 & up for vinyl?
It cost us cheaper today, and, many still choose to destroy
the quality by using low bitrate mp3s.
Our standards are supposed to be higher than the standard
mp3 consumers.
We are DJs, not the average consumer not knowing any better right?
