danny~!
I guess some people remember things that others don't. I personally feel thats its a big event in your life. Especially since it seems music is an important part of all out lives.
I'm actually quite suprised that a lot of people's first Album/Tape/Cd was an electronic one (ie Prodigy, PVD, etc)
Have you guys always liked electronic music? pretty impressive if you have!

My first album was Robert Miles - Dreamland. Children was getting played pretty heavily back in the spring and summer of 1996 and was number 70 on that year's New Year's Eve countdown for Q102 (local FM radio station, 102.1). Why number 70, you asked? Simple, only those who like Trance, Techno, Jazz, SOME Pop would like it! Others obviously were bigger hits that year (like "Macarena" (I know I botched up that spelling!)! That was my first album... I still listen to it every now and then and still love it!

The first album ive bought was Houseparty Volume 1. by Arcade it was in the year 1989 or 90 something like that, it was a pretty popular album in the netherlands, later on they've started a few other series, like Turn up The Bass.
And later on i started to buy the technotraxx series.

LOL! similar here. i have never been a big fan of BUYING albums, it's much fun to download them on 56k! i'm serious. you just appreciate them more. but then half a year i was in an electronics store and they had cds and i looked for trance and found this lil' corner with cds.
i bought:
Oaky - Another world
PVD - Out There and back
PVD - seven ways
Oaky - swordfish
sumfn else, considering the first 3 compilations were double cd's @ $15 each, which is pretty cheap. since then i sometimes go to see what's new and maybe pick up a couple of nice albums, like gu021, or politics of dancing
