tbh id just stick with the djm400 effects (they're are pretty good) until ur confidant with them, then id start thinking about gettin an efx. ud benefit more from learnin a piece of equipment at a time rather than gettin everythin at once, u dont always get the full potential out of everythin coz u spread urself out thinly with masterin more than 1 piece of equipment.
Yeah man, exactly what I was thinking. For me personally, I've found the effects on my 400 to be plenty for the time being.

actually nutsan what youre talking about makes complete sense...i havent gotten my cdj-200's yet either but id rather master one peice of equipment at a time rather than take it all on at once...and i took a look at your thread about the FX unit and setup, etc...and i think we had some similiar ideas! what are you gonna end up doing about that? go for the ecler???

Scratching or no scratching I'd get the 800. 0.05% pitch resolution is more than enough for silky smooth mixes. I like the feel of the jog wheel better on the 800s.

i decided to get a mixer with builtin effects, the dxm09 and then just have my kaoss pad on the master because i tend not to use it much.

is it really worth paying the extra tho? for sumthin u may not even use? i understand wot u mean tho, there is sumthin about the 800s or 1000s that just seems right. but for sumone thats starting out that doesnt wanna scratch, they may aswell get the cdj200 and they'd save a fair amount from the cdj800, which means they can use that money they save for a mixer or headfones.

It's just my opinion. They're not that much more expensive than the 200s. And I think it is worth it.

oh yeah i understand, my point was they are over £300 more expensive which is the same price i paid for my mixer and headphones, hd-25 and dxm09 in case u wondered. so if u werent gona use vinyl mode that was another option.

Oh yea I forgot gear is way more expensive in the UK. Here in the US I think you can get a pair of 800s for less than that.
