I can't believe they are passing this as a serious "story". It's like they asked a 10 year old redneck kid to list his reasons of why "soccer" sucks, then rewrote it with big words.

Seriously. "soccer sucks, it's for donkeys" turns into:

"Actually, the donkey would have a significant advantage over humans in soccer. It has four legs rather than two. The donkey has no hands or opposable thumbs, nor any need of them in order to play soccer. And smashing its head into a soccer ball probably would not cause any diminution of equine IQ. Soccer, then, would appear to be a game better suited to dim-witted quadrupeds than to human beings."

Yesterday, I'm in G-d forsaken, redneck, "as american as it gets" territory of South NJ, USA. I just get off from work (by lying my ass off to leave earlier) and make it to OT - UKR vs SWI televised in local Applebees (like a national pub chain).

They have a game on the telly but out of 60 or so patrons, looks like I'm the only one watching. The volume is not even on... I couldn't even scream after my team won. So I resorted to almost accidental "Yeah!" and then had to look around to make sure no one was staring.

Well, that's America for you.

Sucks...

oh, and the idiot who wrote the article is clueless and should go back to doing what he's good at - writing bible class material, while planning his next sex trip to Thailand to screw little boys and suck off trannies.

You just have to look at football's world wide popularity to know how good a sport is, compare this with sports such as american football, swamp wrestling or hog washing and you'll notice that very few of these american sports are cared for much outside america.

As with everything else, if america can't be best at it, they try to bring it down. Football will always be the worlds number one sport, and that's a fact.
