Can't be fucked naming a lot but this is what i recommend:

Any of the "Solar Stone After Hours Mix"
Mirco de Govia - Chronoscale album
Leama & Moor - Common Ground album
Conjure One album
Rank 1 - "Such is life" (Sunday Afternoon Rework)
Blank & Jones - "Desire" (Ambient Mix)
Miro - "By your side" (Miro's rolled Mix)
Jose Amnesia - "The Eternal" (Sunrise Mix)

pretty much the basics on what you are looking for
.

so first you say he wants ambient and then you give him trance.

Another one you might want to check out is Ryan Farish. I just got his two CD's called "Beautiful" and "From The Sky" and he is releasing his third one in August called "Everlasting". It's basically new age music, with a mixture of world and celtic music, with some dance and breakbeats thrown in. It's not trance, but it is somewhat reminicient of Robert Mile's early stuff, just not as fast paced. It's very soothing.

I gave him what he wanted.

I agree with the Sigur Ros and Brian Eno stuff.

They are all chilled mixes of those tracks though.

The Miro - By Your Side (Miro's Rolled Mix)is mindblowing...

Try:

Faithless - The Garden
Sphongle - Invocation/Exhalation
Moby - Hymn
BT - Firewater
Orbital - One Perfect Sunrise
BT - Satellite (www.myspace.com/thisbinaryuniverse)

Erm, I cant think of many...

Buy some chill out CD's espesh the euphoria ones by Red Jerry.

You'll find a lot of what your after there.

Hey everyone,

I would first like to thank you all for the extremely helpful advice and quick posts. I haven't gotten to all the songs yet, but I will let you all know what I think. So far, I've gotten two of those hour long playlists from Corentin, and am thoroughly pleased. Once I get time, I will find the rest. Thanks again!

exactly.

sorry for being rude, i know that probably fits the taste of threadstarter but i'm sick of people labelling that kind of stuff as the very best in "ambient". it's just slow chilled trance. you can't possibly think the best "ambient" tracks out there are all made by trance producers. it's not even true ambient.

Ok, I have been hard at work tracking down these songs, and I must say, whoever suggested One Perfect Sunrise by Orbital hit the nail on the head! That's not to say the Ambient tracks aren't what I was looking for either, because I love a lot of the Brian Eno stuff. I had actually heard one of his tracks, but did not know the name. Thus, I liked it, but could not find it. It ended up being The Ending. So, thanks for that.

But One Perfect Sunrise is absolutely amazing. This is exactly what I am looking for here. While it is soothing, similar to Halcyon, it does have a very nice beat in it as well. If this gives people a better idea as to what I am searching for, then that's great. But yes, thank you for that! I will be listening to this song for a long time to come. Keep up the great suggestions!
