Ableton Live! Hands down. It lets you do arrangements and live mixes.

Well, I've messed around in Acid Pro for about 30 minutes now and I can say that this is what I've been looking for. Although I still have not understood how to make fadeouts/fadeins along with several other things, it is just the matter of time now Thanks spdandpwr and others who also suggested other software.

atomix has an auto-beatmatching feature that is very good and hardly ever gets it wrong. You can even download it for free from www.atomixmp3.com or off download.com, compared to paying around $150 for ableton or traktor

Sorry to jump in, but how do you arrange tracks(non-live) to make a mix in Ableton?

Look at VirtualDJ from Atomix.
You can automix all tracks in a playlist beatmatched perfectly( not too bad to listen)
and you can customize the cue point for a track to begin the mix. You can set the fade lenght between tracks.

AND you can do the same with video clip !

it will work with a non multi-channel audio card

of course you can mix by your self!! it's a DJ software

U have to create an Arrangement.

Ableton has a secret little gem many people seem to forget... It's called the HELP MENU. In there you can read the LIVE Manual or use the LESSONS. They're both helpful.

When you load the tracks you want to play into the arrangement, you'll be able to beatmap them with the warp feature. Once mapped, they will follow the master tempo you set up top.

I would recommend Mixmeister myself.

that can sometimes do quality mixes...and even a total newbie can do a nice mix with it

yeah i'd recommend MixMeister too. it automatically beatmatches songs for you (mostly - sometimes you have to play around a bit to get it perfect with certain songs), so as long as you have a basic understanding of phrasing, compatible keys, and EQing, you can make some pretty sick mixes with it.

i've messed around with Traktor and Ableton, but MixMeister was by far the easiest to figure out.

to the thread starter - check this link for a comparison of the different versions of MixMeister:

http://www.mixmeister.com/products_comparison.html

you'll probably want to go with either the Studio or Pro versions, because the Express version is missing some of the more important features... like automatically detecting the key of tracks, changing key without changing tempo, using loops, etc.
