Re: Pitch Resolution Question

like even if you have it on +/- 4%, and say the pitch slider is 10 cm long, to move it only .02% you would have to move the pitch slider down 0.25mm (if my math is correct) which is basically impossible seeing that it would be extremely hard to move it down such a slight ammount... so can someone explain to me why it is important to have such a high pitch resolution....as opposed to having like .1% resolution, like obviously .02% is better but is it really useful when you cant move teh pitch slider that precisely, or is there something i dont understand? |
Dude you are not thinking I am going to move it one incriment lower. You just rest your hand on the pitch and listen.
Once you sense a diference in pitch your left hand will rotate the jog while your right hand will move the pitch slider a hairbreath up or down.
The better the resolution the better your mixing will be and the longer the tracks will stay beatmatched.
If for example you want to mash-up two tracks you don't want to feel stuck within incriments.
Now can you feel it? It's getting closer...It's getting closer...
