Oh yes, Aalto - Rush, that's the one it reminded me of..thanks Not all similar but some parts are quite like it. Yeah, the track is quite standard. The more I work on it the more I feel so. It doesn't have that extra something it would need. I'll finish it anyway to get it out of my mind, as another tune that'll stay on my hard drive only.

there isn't anything wrong with it being "standard anjuna" - anjuna consistantly sign big selling tracks that drop well in clubs.

whats not to like?

Well..I actually like the anjuna-kind of trance a lot But I'd like to get something rememberable and different on my tracks..this one atm doesn't have any particularly strong melodic elements or sounds that catch the listeners attention

I fucking love it. It sounds close enough to be mistaken for Anjuna choon but it's a good thing, IMHO.

I wish I could make melody and progression like that.

What did you use to make it? Any samples or all self-made?

Finish it, for sure!

good track...i think the pads would sound better if it were less choir-y and more string-y...idk hard to explain

Thanks for all the kind comments I know what you mean cherrybarry..there was a certain choiry tone on the pads that I didn't like either.

I haven't worked with this tune lately. Here's the latest clip anyway, a bit longer than the first one:

Clip 2

The mix is a mess and I don't know what to do about it. I've been trying to forget the whole tune so I could come back later with a better point of view and finish it.

emc^2 only the drums are samples played with Halion. I used Novation Nova and V-Station, Roland JP-8000, Oberheim Matrix-1000, Korg Wavestation and my diy SID synth on this tune.

why don't you just follow the arp of the first four bars in the melody in the second four - that way it would sound nothing like rush. - I mean mid low high, mid low high rather than the second four bars which are high, mid, low

Sounds really good when it all kicks in, just lose that breakbeat section .
The melody is perfectly fine, I like it a lot.
