J,
I still think 1. Talamasca - A Frenchman in Cape Town (Chill Cliff Remix) would be better served up in the middle or near the end of a set. I really like this track, it has a nice tribal/jungle sound. Mixing into Creepy Cheeky was very good.
I'm not a big fan of 3. Mekkanikka - Popsick (Original Mix), but your transition into it was great!
4. MFG - Shma Israel (Original Mix) is a really nice track, at least the beginning of it. The second half, after the 10 second gap with no drums really disappoints. A little too odd, with the ambient sounds I was almost ready to fall asleep, and had wondered if I actually did and woke up listening to another set. It finishes off nice though.
The ride into 5. Olli Wisdom - A Pinch of Psychedelic (Space Tribe Remix) was really nice. Very good transition, and a pretty good track.
6. Mekkanikka - Chill dat beach out (Original Mix) is a track that has a chance to grow on me. IMO, it's an okay track, with some really great sounds, but the producer(s) could have put a bit more polish on it. It almost sounds like an unfinished track. I still like it.
I think your short transition into 7. Electric Universe - Gaijinrocker (Original Mix) worked pretty well. I like the guitar, and the energy behind the guitar (what is that sampled from?).
Mixing into 8. Qeens Park Derangers - Create A Hippy (Original Mix) was okay.
9. Eskimo - Party Pooper (Original Mix) is a very cool track. It seems like the duration of it was kind of short, or maybe it's just the fact I'm used to listening to prog sets where there's *usually* more of each song .
10. Xerox ft. Psycraft - Adrenalin Rush (Original Mix). I'm a big fan of Xerox, and this is far from their best work. With that said, it's still a pretty decent track.
And this is the second set I've grabbed from here in the past month where my favourite track of the set is the finisher. 11. 1200 Micrograms - Mescaline (Original Mix) is a really cool track. 10 minutes of it is a bit too much of it though IMO. I think this might work a little better on either side of Gaijinrocker or a pitched-up A Frenchman in Cape Town (Chill Cliff Remix) (which I'd like to hear in the heart of a set).
Overall a pretty nice set. It's nice to see there are other people in Calgary who don't all listen to/spin the same crap. I'd say it's a bit of a 'breath of fresh air' set, and thanks for it J!
Cheers,
THC
