Judging by your post you may well be the foremost expert in total BS, as you sure can type it. But I understand, to each his own. And let me remind you in case you forgot or didn't know, nothing brings about a feling of 'unity' and a great vibe better than a great trance show.
As for your claims regarding what is poular in the Netherlands, I cannot account for the lack of musical taste of other people, including you or that country. And last time I checked the top three DJs in the world are trance DJs, so your claim that trance is no longer popular at all is laughable. And Sensation was a world class and world known event, not just an event for people from the Netherlands. So even assuming that house is the most popular dance music in the Netherlands, as you claim, none of the top rated or best house/tech DJs were even booked at Sensation White. For example Deep Dish, Carl Cox, Eric Morillo, Benny Benassi, Roger Sanchez, etc were all missing from the lineup, and are much better than the house DJs Sensation booked. So even if house was best suited for the event, they missed that boat as well. You need to 'deal with' that genius.
And do not worry, I deal with Sensation's poor lineup just fine by not travelling and paying to see the sub-par house DJs they brought, the likes of which I could see any time here in Miami for $20.00, get bored after an hour, and go elsewhere.
FYI: Last time I checked this website is called "Trance Addict," not "Boring House Addict." Maybe you are the guy they beat up on that Sensation Black video, your brain damage just kicked in, and you missed that. |
i love trance, but when it comes to the subject of sensation, i think you are better off leaving it alone. the concept is something that was started out one way and developed into something else. It comes down to this:
they can book whoever they want for sensation; however shitty he/she might be, whether they ask fucking justin timberlake to perform, it will still sell out. people go for the event and for the name not for the music. Sensation (especially white) will always sell out because it is all about the marketing and it is an event for the masses, not an event for the music lovers. the people that go to black are much more specific about going for that specific music than white. if they were going to ask some shit performers to come, it should've been to white, not black. id&t got bitten in the ass and they deserve it for letting sensation turn into such a joke
it's sad because it used to be an amazing event, but true. this coming from someone who has been to sensation white & black, lived in amsterdam and now lives in miami, so take my word for it
