I already spoke to Canon customer service @ mississauga. They still havent sent me the part # so I could order it. Thankfully, I already found a person with a spare LCD cover and the camera has been returned , so now I don't have to deal with any customer service people.

Intersting tip about credit cards, I've never heard of that, thanks.

Exactly...that's cause they don't like advertising this too much For that reason it's always worth buying expensive/sensitive/electronic items with one of those credit cards because they double the warranty - and you don't have to get sucked into buying those extended warranties everyone's always pushing for.

Just keep the receipt

In some instances extended warranties are justified .

All I know is that my credit card offers free insurance on rental vehicles

When I dropped my SD400 after owning it for about 2 weeks hah oops (I was completely drunk so I did care at the time) I tried to get it fixed it took it to Canon in Suaga with some lame reason on how it broke they fixed it in like 2 weeks then My SD400 lense would not retract so I took it to futureshop cause it was close at the time. I just had a HORRIBLE experience with Canon but it could've been a very isolated case...at the end of the day I made so much noise and escalated the issue so high up the management chain that they practically replaced my SLR for free with a higher model just to keep me from coming back ever again and bug them lol...

Yep, big corporations do that. Statistically, you will tell more people about bad experiences with a certain company rather than good ones. Noisemaking works very often, as long as you are smart about it .

BTW, which model did they end up giving you and what did you have before? I'm curious.
