Sad

It'll be different for every vehicle depending on gear ratios, aerodynamics, and a couple other factors. But I think you're in the right area.

But considering drag increases with higher speeds it makes sense.

Ahh you beat me to it.

gas mileage is not related to speed, but RPMs.

the reason you burn less gas over 90kmph is that your RPMs are typically lower because you're rarely accelerating at a high rate, or racing to shift to the next gear.

That's only right if you're driving through a vacuum.

I was just about to say that. The only reason I know this is b/c Cale's car gets terrible fuel economy if he goes anything over 120km/hr

Sorry to hear about your car though Scott

^^Trialblazer SS FTW.

As for SUVs I believe they serve a purpose. Unfortunatly that purpose is not driving around city streets like 99% of SUV owners do.

My parents actually utilize our Pathfinder by going up north in the dead of the winter. You try that in a 2 wheel drive vehicle.

Also, tell me your RPM at 90. Now tell me your RPM at 100. Which is higher?

I Thought so.

Funny. I've noticed I am passing a lot more SUVs on the highway lately. (Not that I'm going excessively fast).
