I used to be the same. When I started learning, I didn't really have the patience to sit through hours of fine tweaking just to get a better quality sound. I just did everything in one sitting, used presets and didn't EQ them or anything. It was more like a game than anything. Good for learning to get familiar with the tools that you use. I must have produced hundreds if not thousands of tracks since I started. Not a single one that I really liked. But I had fun doing them and that's what counts.

An idea for a lead melody and supporting melodies can be done in a matter of a few minutes but laying out the track takes more time. Rough skelaton for me takes anywhere from 2-6 hours of work depending on how complex the song is. then fixing levels and fine tuning takes a long time, days and days, even weeks. I have unfinished songs laying around all over my HD because I'm not exactly happy with the way things came out. So I tend not to listen to a song after "finishing" it for a while, then later I'll come back and visit it to see how it sounds to fresh ears. Mixing and mastering is the most tedious process... used to take me forever but now it's starting to get a little better, I'm not too fast with it though.

Generally a label can give you maybe 6ish weeks to finish a remix, meaning most of the creative part is already done for you, and sometimes it doesn't feel like enough time. So it really varies depending on how ideas comes to you. Using that as a reference, original tunes could take months to finish. We have a project in the works that started over 6 months ago, and little by little we're progressing on it.

Daily I normally don't produce much, I might fool around for like half an hour a day if i have some ideas but 1 or 2 days of the week I'll have an exciting idea and I'll bang it out in the sequencer. So on average I'd say like 7-10 hours a week goes towards production.
