Thanks for all your help by the way

Once I deleted the In bus I get no audio coming into cubase at all, the mixer doesn't have any audio from my synth at all.

I'll post a couple more pics of my VST connections setup.

EDIT: I never noticed your last post! Hopefully you'll see what I'm doing wrong from the pictures!

I got it set up as an external instrument now without any latency, but I don't see it in the mixer?

As we're on the subject of Cubase SX3 i've just started playing around with it, I'm a reason user and want a nice soft intro in to re-wiring it all together for maximum effects,ok getting carried away abit there.

But please, I'm "hot" with reason now and want to take the next step by intergrating Cubase.

Any pointers to guides etc... ?

I'm where you're at, but I think I've almost got it nailed. I'll let you know soon

Have you spent any time using cubase on it's own yet? If not I'd try that first, loading vstis etc. Once you're used to loading vstis, rewire is a doddle.

Open cubase, go to the 'devices' menu and click 'reason'. There'll be a list of reasons outputs. Select the top two 'l' and 'r', open reason and then select a reason device from a cubase midi track (the same place you'd select a vsti).

At the bottom of the reason window you have 'focus' buttons called 'midi' and 'play'. Always have midi selected, if you select play the reason song and cubase will play at the same time. If you deselect it only cubase will play synth notes/redrum etc.

Hopefully that helps for now, if you need more info maybe I can help or you can do some googling.

Got it!

I got an XML file from a really helpful guy on the waldorf forum.

HERES THE FILE!

The E-mail he sent me:

"Right, excuse the religious references in the name (I got so frustrated I ran out of names to call all my prototype panels and ended up at the religious

this unit is set up to talk to the pulse on channel 15 and device ID 3, both of thee can be found and changed in the editor mode - the channel is quite easy, the sysex for the device ID (only used for the Parm dump request) can be found under that parameter. If you want to change sysex, Google "C Y Kong panel" he explains the clunky way the sysex editing works.

Also once you've made patches they can only be deleted through a workaround."

I'm sure he wouldn't mind, I haven't gave his details and he said I was free to share the file. If anyone tries this and has any questions, PM me because I said I'd get back to him. I'm gonna get back to him on Monday.

Go to Midi Device manager and import setup. Choose 'pulse' as your midi device in vst connections external instruments.

When everything else is set up properly, go to VST Instruments. You will see a new group there labeled "External Instruments". They work just like VSTi's except you can use each only once, obviously. When you select the external instrument for empty VSTi slot, THEN the audio track will be added.
