If you have a $20,000K Budget, then you can easily afford EAW's Avalon Series speakers.

For 20.000 $ I would do a lot of fucking research.
I cant stress how important it is to have somebody analize and zero out your room, place shit properly ect.
How many people are you expecting?
Do you plan on opening a commercial night club?
Or do you just want speakers for a few partys?

If it's the second renting might be a smarter and far cheaper choise.
See how things go before breaking the bank.
If you want speakers that sound shit hot can go loud enough for a home
get genelecs mainfields. The best monitors in the world. www.genelec.com
(just read the specs nothing compares)
These are designed for large broadcast studios, acoustic research, mastering ect.
You can drive these mother******s really loud like till the threshhold of pain but they still maintain breathtaking clarity.
Sasha has the 1037s or 38s in his studio as spotted in the involver picture
(the ones sunk in his wall lol).

Good luck on your research and I sure hope you live in the middle of nowhere because with a 20k speaker setup you are going to get sued for noise polution!

Off topic:
Will you be spinning there?
What format ?
What style ?

On topic:
Under 100 PPL and loungemusic with 20k you will get SHIT HOT SOUND quality !!
How they analize a room is you take something that generates pink noise (all fequencies of the audio spectrum together) and play it through the mains. Once you hear feedback you go to your 30band equalizer (like a bss) and using the trial and error method you find the frequency/ies that is causing that.
Next you turn it down and boost your gain to make up for the gain loss.
This way you ''loose the room'' and the nasty echoes ect.
As for speaker placement I spotted this just to give you an idea :
http://www.xone.co.uk/downloads/xone464_club_apps.pdf

Obviously I am not an expert but if you visit these boards

http://www.recording.org/forums.html

http://srforums.prosoundweb.com/

http://acapella.harmony-central.com...p?s=&forumid=33

you will find people who know much more than I do.
Tell them in detail what you plan to do (budget size capasity style of music (for ex. dj/edm not rock bands, mics and all that) loud?how loud? ...ect)) and ask for the ''best'' solution to get ideas.

These folks at phazon (international engeneers/owners of the mighty twilo club in Nyc, offer consulting for lounges but they charge for the consulting/concept design and me likes free consulting better and more money for gear...

But do have a look at their page: see what they think is hot http://www.phazon.com/

Dj E-s*it I wish you the best luck and keep us updated with your project
