catfish can be freakin massive. down in the delta people will fist, yes i spelled it FIST, for catfish that can get 30-50 lbs. in south america they get even bigger 124 lbs is the world record for flathead catfish i belive.


grouper are another huge fish, world record for goliath grouper was 551 lbs

the two main redneck fishing methods for catfish (not including 1/4 sticks of TNT and spotlamps) is mudding and fisting. mudding is when you and a group of 4 overweight, budweiser drinkin yokels probe the bank by hand looking for a catfish "nest" one of the memebers then dives headfirst into the hole and attempts to wrestle the fish out. the remaining team members form a perimeter around the hole diver to assist by pulling on his ankels and to prevent the fish from escaping.

fisting is acomplished by punching your fist into themud in front of a cat fishes head, the fish will then swallow your forearm (up to the elbow or higher) and you pull him from the water and beat the fish against a rock.

upon a succesful catch, participants usually give each other a congratulatory pat on the ass, pound back a few cold ones, then procede to engage in incestuous fournication with sisters / mothers / grandmothers / cousins or in some rare cases, family pets
