That is so not true. I've seen quite a few ppl here mentioning schulz and armin together like if they're the same shit. Now, the truth is, and im not just saying this: the good tunes armin spins are the ones markus spins (in the past markus spun the good shit before armin did. Nowdays, maybe because of them being closer and working with music on the same labels and so on, they may play the same new track on their show the same week). However, take a look at asot before the breakthrough of schulz and the gdjb and take a look at it after. And if you look at the entire shows, episode after episode, you can see a clear difference in style between the two. The gdjb stands for the calm (yet groovy), dark and brooding proggomelodic sound, the markus schulz style, progressive but with huge atmosphere. You see a bunch of producers, many of them new and unknown, adopting this sound and they sound incredibly good most of the times, dunno how they do that!?
Asot on the other hand includes most of the times some gdjb-style tracks, but also much of the typical more up-tempo straight-forward melodic asot-stuff that i grew tired of a few years ago.

So, armin plays a few good tracks in gdjb-style while schulz fills his entire sets with them. That is the difference and that is also the reason why me and many others love the gdjb but can't listen to asot without getting annoyed a varying number of times each set.
That's it.

And when we talk about what's good and what isn't and what's quality and what isn't at the end of the day that's a matter of taste. I'm not gonna sit here and say the music i like is good while the music you like sucks etc. Matter of fact i might just like the music you like too. It's enough to look at the topic of the thread. I love the progressive style that has arisen out of the psyscene, and that many times doesn't sound much like psy at all but still it has a different feel compared to the prog that has evolved from and between house and other (non-psy)trance.

I wonder how many of the Schulz worshippers listened to him before he jumped on Armada/GDJB. Like before 2000 during his more banging days.

I didn't, I was too busy downloading ferry corsten remixes from napster on dial-up. The GDJB precedes the Armada involvement on the timeline tho.
