best album of the year for me. Not as vocal heavy, and all of it is top-notch production.

9.999999/10

Just for today is just insanely good. Hybrid managed to capture almost all the good aspects of their previous albums into one tune. This album is a must buy

Pretty good listening it was. Maybe the vocal part aren't the best thing on this album, but the rest is kinda nice. Instrumental parts are stunning as always in case of Hybrid.

Great album. The vocals aren't as cheesy as they were on Wide Angle, nor are they as meh as they were on Morning Sci-Fi IMO. Soundwise they took a grander approach a la Wide Angle but the tracks are sitll filled with a lot of dark sounds like many of the cuts from Morning Sci-Fi which I prefer. People may diss it because of the vocals all they want but I still think Dogstar is a stellar track. As soon as that beat kicks in it's like . I Choose Noise is another funky ass track with it's sharp string sounds. Falling Down is another nice track and while a bit of a downer at times has a Gravastaresque kick throughout parts of the song that I dig.

Overall I'm impressed with this album. It seems as though Hybrid took the cinematic feel of Wide Angle and combined it with the darker sounds of Morning Sci-Fi to give us I Choose Noise. Thus far I think I'm more impressed with I Choose Noise than This Binary Universe although both are solid releases. After a few listens I'm inclined to give this one an 8/10 for now. We'll see how I feel after a few more spins.

Oh, and I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this album yet.

The track Hooligan Spirit reminds me of an opening to some Marilyn Manson song. And that's good.

God this album rocks so hard.

ok i got mine from distinctive already and im not too sure.

01 - Secret Circles: I enjoyed the opening. A symphonic sequence. It sounds like a movie soundtrack.

02 - Dogstar: I think a different choice of lyrics/singer will be better. I thought it was Bono at first.

03 - I Choose Noise: Ohh I like. This track is has the morning sci-fi darkness with some strings. At times I also think I'm listening to part of the matrix or star wars soundtrack.

04 - Falling Down: Dont care for the vocals

05 - Last Man Standing: A dark song Marrakech from morning sci-fi.

06 - Hooligan Spirit: Too industrial feeling for my likes

07 - Choke: althought this one is also industrial sounding as well I like the lyrics. It reminds me of orgy. The voice fits the song.

08 - Keep It In The Family: A symphonic song like higher than a skyscraper or final symphony. I dig. I dig a lot. 2nd favorite song.

09 - Until Tomorow: My favorite song. I would describe it as this albums 'Steal You Away' w/ symphonic like notes

10 - Dream Stalker:

11 - Just For Today: Good track.

My only complaint. Where is CASCADE?! I heard it on hybridsoundsystems flash music player. Ohhhh I love that song. I can't believe it is not on this album. Does anyone know if its released?

+1

The whole album is superb imo but this track in particular is HUGE. I love the vocals, Graham has a really nice pleasant voice. The lyrics are great too, smooth rhymes, and i love this kind of introspective nonsense that melts in so perfectly with the track. The production is fantastic, from the great work with the guitars in the intro-part to the beats in final part. This will definitely be a top10 for me this year.

I would like this tune to be expanded with other versions, remixes. It is a complete work of art on the album, yes, but the vocals are so great, they deserve more space and more attention. This is the kind of tune that screams for remixes from UNKLE and Way Out West.

Only a few artists managed to maintain their level of greatness and Hybrid belongs to them imho.

Thats some really nice stuff although I don 't like everything of it.
