The problem with a ninja in my box is that the chipset is passively cooled and relies on air flow from the cpu fan to keep the mobo from overheating. The mobo even includes an optional chipset fan to use for cooling the system if you put a passive heatsink or waterblock in there, so that the heatpipe thing actually works.
Unfortunately the ninja is so friggin big that the optional chipset fan thingy doesn't fit on the mobo! I would rather use a quiet fan based cooler than resort to that asus chipset fan which will inevitably be much noisier.
So I need a cooler that doesn't make a lot of noise and blows air down into the cpu and chipset, I have a passively cooled video card which has a heatsink that hovers over the cpu cooler so that the fan sucks air through it as well, so I am hoping that I can get away with just these 2 fans, the case exhaust and the cpu cooler, although it is tempting to do 2 case fans and have a passive cooler like a ninja, I worry about the chipset getting too hot mainly because the mobo includes that fan and says to use it if you have a passive cpu cooler.
This is really something I wont be able to get figured out for sure until I have the parts here and can actually measure how much space I have for a cooler and how hot the thing is actually getting, I really hope I can do 2 case fans and a ninja though, that would be ideal.
